Centenary United Methodist Church, located in downtown Winston-Salem, is an historic, Gothic-revival style church.  LAMBERT led a multi-phase planning process to develop a Master Plan for the entire church property with a focus on the spaces dedicated to the Children’s and Youth programs. Unused classrooms were devoted to enlarging common areas such as entrance lobbies; play areas for children; creation of a large multi-purpose room and adjacent kitchen. Interior finishes and lighting were selected to complement the exterior Gothic style. The 4th floor was completely reconfigured from a warren of hallways and small spaces into 4 large spaces which includes a full kitchen that accommodate the Jr. and Sr. High programs. A major component of the project was the insertion of a new elevator to provide handicap access to all 4 floors.
