+ Duke Smith Warehouse

For use by a variety of student-focused groups, LAMBERT softened and organized the spaces in this 90,000 SF historic warehouse, and created an interesting but methodical system of wayfinding. Programmatically diverse groups were arranged along a sinuous wall that parallels primary circulation on the first floor while incorporating industrial-feeling materials sympathetic to the space. Distinct, bright colors were used to denote each major bay of the building, figuring into signage and wayfinding.

Orientation A sinuous curved wall provides definition and orientation in this long footprint. Industrial-themed materials and lighting are incorporated in the design of this element.
