+ 2012 IIDA Award

LAMBERT Architecture + Interiors' renovation of the Duke University Smith Warehouse received a 2012 IIDA Award. The project was given honorable mention for Government/Institutional Design. 

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 115,000 GSF Student Services Center for a private University constructed within a portion of the renovated shell of a 100+ year old former tobacco warehouse.

The building retained its timber columns and high ceilings. Materials with an industrial theme, along with accent lighting, were included with industrial type fixtures to pay homage to the building's historic function.
